The route, day by day
This is the longer Garhwal journey; it is different from the Nanda Devi East Base Camp trek that starts from Munsyari.
Arrive Delhi

Drive to Nainital.

Excursion around Nainital before the Garhwal approach.
Nainital to Debal
Drive via Kausani and Gwaldam to Debal.
Debal – Mandoli – Didina
Drive to Mandoli and begin the trek to Didina.
Didina to Pathar Nachuni
Climb through oak and bamboo towards the high meadows.
Roopkund excursion – Pathar Nachuni
A high-altitude excursion via Bhagwabasa/Roopkund and return.
Pathar Nachuni to Kunol
Traverse the ridge and descend to Kunol.
Kunol to Sitail
Trek through remote village country and cross the Nandakini river.
Sitail to Ramni
Village trail with moderate ascent and descent.
Ramni to Jhenji
Cross Binayak Top and descend to Jhenji.
Jhenji to Pana
Climb to Pana village.
Pana to Kuari Pass
Long climb through forest and meadow to the Kuari Pass sector.

Kuari Pass – Auli – Joshimath
Descend through Tali/Gorson to Auli and transfer to Joshimath.
Joshimath – Badrinath – Pipalkoti
Drive to Badrinath, then continue to Pipalkoti.
Pipalkoti to Rishikesh
Drive down through Garhwal to Rishikesh.
