Day-wise itinerary

The route, day by day

Day 1

Srinagar to Sonamarg

Drive to Sonamarg and acclimatise near the Sindh river.

Day 2

Sonamarg to Nichnai

Climb through forest and meadow terrain to Nichnai.

Day 3

Nichnai to Vishansar Valley

Cross the Nichnai Pass sector and enter the Vishansar lake valley.

Day 4

Vishansar to Gadsar

Cross Gadsar Pass, the high point of the trek, then descend into Gadsar valley.

Day 5

Gadsar to Satsar

Continue through rolling alpine terrain to the Satsar area.

Day 6

Satsar to Gangabal

Cross towards the Nundkol/Gangabal lake basin beneath Harmukh.

Day 7

Gangabal to Naranag

Descend through meadows and forest to Naranag for the road transfer.
