About the trek

What to expect on this route

The eastern approach to Nanda Devi is one of Kumaon’s defining expedition routes. From Munsyari, the trail enters Johar Valley before turning into the Pachu side valley towards high alpine country.

The experience is shaped by landscape and pace: birch and rhododendron, open meadows, village history and the growing presence of Nanda Devi East.
