What to expect on this route
Adi Kailash and Om Parvat are approached through one of Kumaon’s most culturally and geographically distinctive border landscapes. The journey combines sacred geography, Rung heritage, dramatic river valleys and sustained travel at high altitude.
Alpine Trek plans this route conservatively. The final movement plan is confirmed only after permit status, medical readiness, weather and local administration advisories are checked.
Day-wise itinerary
Choose your starting format
Two starting formats are available. Permit formalities, medical requirements, vehicle plan, dates and price are confirmed for the selected departure.
Dharchula to Dharchula — 6 days
Arrive in Dharchula
Arrival, Inner Line Permit and medical formalities, followed by a local briefing and overnight stay.
Dharchula to Gunji
Travel through the upper Kali valley to the Gunji/Nabi/Napalchu area; overnight in local accommodation.
Om Parvat excursion
Visit the Nabidhang viewpoint for Om Parvat and return to the Gunji sector for the night.
Adi Kailash & Jyolingkong
Early excursion towards Jyolingkong, Parvati Sarovar and the Adi Kailash temple sector, then return to the Gunji area.
Gunji/Nabi to Dharchula
Descend from the upper valley towards Dharchula; the final overnight point is reconfirmed for each departure.
Departure
Breakfast and onward departure from Dharchula.
Kathgodam to Kathgodam — 7 days
Kathgodam to Pithoragarh
Drive through Kumaon to Pithoragarh with an evening Himalayan-view stop when conditions permit.
Pithoragarh to Dharchula
Drive to Dharchula; permit and medical formalities are completed before entering the restricted upper valley.
Dharchula to Gunji
Travel to the Gunji/Nabi/Napalchu sector through the upper Kali valley.
Om Parvat excursion
Visit the Nabidhang viewpoint and return to the upper-valley accommodation.
Adi Kailash & Jyolingkong
Visit Jyolingkong, Parvati Sarovar and the Adi Kailash temple sector, then return to the Gunji area.
Gunji to Pithoragarh
Return via Dharchula to Pithoragarh for the night.
Pithoragarh to Kathgodam
Drive back to Kathgodam for onward travel.
